Founded by Sue Archer in 2001, Archer Consulting Limited has quickly
grown into a thriving consultancy service delivering integrated services for children.
Graduating in 1990 with an honours degree in Quantity Surveying and achieving chartered surveyor status in 1992, Sue made a radical career
change from the construction industry to the Fast Stream management development programme of the Civil Service!
Based in the Department for Education and Skills, Sue gained experience in a variety of postings and, since 1996, specialised in early years and childcare. This meant
providing policy advice to Government Ministers and support to local authorities and national
organisations on a wide range of related policies, including the creation of free nursery education for three and four year olds.
In 2001 Sue left the DfES to set up her own consultancy company to advise on and deliver the
integration of children’s services, specifically education, childcare, family learning, social care and health.
Sue leads on many of the projects delivered by Archer Consulting Limited, but may on occasion work with a network of other consultants to meet client’s needs.
